Get the Look: Sophie's Boho Glam Nursery
Wrapping up my daughter's nursery design has been a long time in the making, she can hardly be called a baby anymore, but it was nice to finish up the room while she is still sleeping in a crib! I spent the latter half of my pregnancy with her on pretty strict bedrest, after a preterm labor scare along with a handful of other complications, during which I was allowed to get up for a five-minute shower or to get a bite out of the fridge, and that was the extent of it. Going into nesting mode and putting my house in order was entirely off the table but I did manage to design and furnish most of the nursery (and much of our space) from my spot on the bed with the help of my laptop. My husband measured every square inch of our apartment, and I plugged the info into a floor planner, which I used to mock up layouts for furniture and rugs, and made inspiration boards for individual rooms in photoshop then did all of my ordering online. The one thing I managed to do with my own hands was arranging the stars over her changing table, every time I would walk past her room on my way back from the kitchen I would put one up on the wall until it was finished. Once the glider was in place, I would sometimes sit in it and imagine what it would be like to hold her in that room, a bit of motivation during some pretty dark days.
