What is Deadstock and Where to Shop it

With the recent surge in awareness around sustainability in fashion, Deadstock is a term you may have seen floating around. Put simply, it means an existing item or material that has never been used/worn before. The term comes from the idea that it was for some reason pulled from the shelves without being sold, stock that is "dead" aka deadstock. In fashion, this most often refers to fabric. Vintage fabric is sourced and used to create clothing in limited edition runs (until the material is used up), by companies such as Whimy and Row and Christy Dawn. What this means for you is that you can score a piece that not everyone will have (no more showing to to an event in the same Zara dress as someone else) and often the quality of the material is higher, there's a reason they say that they don't make them like they used to.
